5 out of 5 Modern tradition

I seem to be buying a number of Japanese made knives lately. This is another simply beautiful and simply designed knife with outstanding execution of production. The blade steel is not the modern super steel of today, but the grind and ease of sharpening compensate very well for that. This knife is sleek, smooth and impeccably fit and finished. The stag handle is easily among the best I’ve seen ( and probably the best I own.) You can buy a variety of great knives for this price, or a little less, but you can’t find any better built or nearly as beautiful. Did I say I am extremely pleased and very satisfied? Well, I certainly am!

5 out of 5 Very nice knife!

Very pleased with this knife! My first Moki, I had read good things about them, and have come to trust the ratings Mike assigns to knives on this site. Feels nice in hand, with the smooth elongated bolsters and the carved bone at the back end, and overall very nice size for my hands. The fit and finish is remarkable for the price–reminds me of the Case/Bose annual collaborations when looking at the machining and tolerances; when opened it is hard to discern where the blade meets the lockbar. Very smooth action and tight lockup as well. All stainless construction, and VG-10 steel blade…just really very nice!

5 out of 5 Kireina Naifu!

The quality of this knife is amazing. I have owned and handled a fair number of custom made folders and the Kronos is IMHO on par with any of them. With an asking price well under $200 it’s a flat out steal. The fit and finish is excellent and the VG10 blade is razor sharp out of the box. You will not be disappointed with this knife. Oh yeah, it fits a large CK slip perfectly.

5 out of 5 Really nice knife

    (verified owner)

I’m mostly a fixed blade guy, but I have a soft spot for folders with amber bone handles (my first knife, given to me by my father when I was eight years old, had amber bone handles).

The Kronos is a very nice knife. It is light for how large it is, carries well in the pocket (I don’t use the sheath), opens and closes VERY smoothly, was sharp out of the box, and has exceptional craftsmanship, considering it’s reasonable price-point.

The carved bone handles are beautiful and interesting to look at and feel. The bolsters have a fine satin finish and the liners are stainless steel.

It is my first folder with a high-polished blade. I wasn’t sure if I would like it (I prefer a satin or tumbled finish), but I really do. I appreciate the VG-10 steel (I have a number of other knives made of it), as it is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well. It also seems to polish up well.

All in all, this is an outstanding folder and well worth the price of it.
