Our goal is to keep the customers 100% satisfied. To this end we work very hard. Thus, any item that is not as described and has gotten past our shipping crew will be handled quickly and professionally. If you have decided you are not happy with the knife and just want a store credit, send it back and we will issue a store credit minus our actual shipping costs (whether built into the price of the item or not). If we feel any particular customer is abusing this policy or returns just get too common for a particular customer, we reserve the right the deduct a 15% restocking fee from the credit. If you want a refund on the purchase price of a personal preference return item, the actual shipping cost incurred by us will be held out. Regardless of which of these methods are used, there will only be a 14 day allowance after purchase of the product to notify us; and once the return is authorized, a strict 10 day allowance to get it back to us. All of these policies are dependent on the product being exactly as it left our facility. Please inspect your purchase upon delivery for issues; as we will not replace knives with scuffs or scratches more than 3 days after delivery. Any warranty on a product with noticeable usage or modifications will have to be handled with the maker.
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the “My Account” link and “Orders” tab. We’ll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
2019 Update: Paypal will no longer refund the finance charges paid by CollectorKnives. Thus, if a refund (partial or full) is requested prior to shipment, it will now have a 3% finance charge held out for Paypal payments. The same will also be the case for “no fault” returns once returned. Those are returns for any reason other than defective or wrong item.
We have employed a very exhaustive shipping calculator. Generally there are items that ship free regardless of amount purchased and there are items that incur a shipping cost if the total order is less than $99. If we are preparing to ship and notice that we can combine orders going to the same address, we will.
We are a family business; as such we are not in the store every waking moment. Most weeks we ship three days at least, but this increases to near daily in November and December.
We ship via USPS Priority mail and optionally USPS Express to most United States states and territories. Insurance is provided as a separate item than can be added to the cart in $100 value increments. If you need insurance because of concerns on your end (prior theft, etc.) then please add it to the order before checking out. If the USPS tells me they have delivered your package, I will not be responsible for loss or theft. We do not ship internationally, check out FAQ’s for reasons.
You can keep up to date with your order by creating and logging into your account. Once it ships a tracking number will be supplied.
Generally we will allow order cancellations right up until we print the shipping label. After that, any incurred fees associated with a cancellation will be held out of the refund.
Special Handling Instructions
If you need to include special handling instructions on the label, such as “Leave at front door”, etc. Please use the “Company Name” or “Address Line 2” components in the address portion itself for these. We must ship to the address provided in the transaction and the order notes are only for preferences or notes directly to CollectorKnives.
