I almost passed on clicking the link for collector knives, thinking they’d only carry super expensive knives for display or investment.

Instead, I found a small family business with their feet on the ground and a straightforward approach to distribution and customer service. I’m glad I did, as I found the knife I wanted at a substantial savings from the big houses.

This knife is beautiful and carefully made. As far as utility it has great steel, a strong clip point, and comes razor sharp from the factory.

The blade spine is crowned and polished, a treatment that extends to the backspace. The jumping on the handle and blade are so well machined you can barely see the seam when open. Pressure on the backlock frees the blade to swing down, so one handed closing is easily, if carefully accomplished. The beehive shaped thumbstuds are comfortable and well positioned. There is no fidget factor on this sharp tool, if you don’t want to risk stitches. It is designed to be used purposefully, with all attention.

I’m not wild about the clip, it seems to swoop out a bit too far. I may remove it and use a lanyard or make one I like better. I’ll likely make scales out of exotic wood, too. The nicely sculpted G10 isn’t overwhelmingly grippy, and beautiful burl would compliment this Italian design.
