5 out of 5 Viper Italo (titanium)

I like and tend to buy knives you might describe as on the heavy duty or overbuilt end of the scale. I researched this knife before purchase; titanium frame lock and scale, Bohler’s M390 blade steel, ball bearing pivot and its a flipper. Quality materials.

What separated this knife from the pack for me was the styling. No matter which angle you view the knife, the quality craftsmanship is apparent. The unique blade shape appealed to me as well.

Close up photos show the attention to detail in its production such as the rounding of the top of the blade, the blade shape, and the unique thumb stud/thumb plate on the top of the blade. The milled grooving in the scales matches the thumb stud, nice touch.

The knife if offered as a liner lock with G-10 or frame lock with G-10 or TI, nice to have a choice on that.

Deep carry style clip, tip up only, stylish and functional.

When I received the knife it flipped open easily right out of the box. After a little oil and working with it, it opens very quickly every time. The weight is over 6.5 oz, but it balances well and I don’t mind the weight for a larger knife.

The styling is from designer Fabrizio Silvestrelli who works in house for Viper Knives; I appreciate his effort on this knife. Production was done in Maniago, Italy; several knife companies operate there and they seem to take great pride in their work. This knife is no exception.

Collector Knives had the item in stock at a very good price. I like their website and they let you know up front they are a small Oklahoma family business, the kind I like to buy from. Once the processing was completed I received an email with a tracking number and was able to anticipate it’s delivery (got it two days later.)

The purchase was a good and successful experience and I will buy from Collector knives again in the future.

5 out of 5 A beautiful beast of a knife!

As usual, Collector Knives is the best online knife retailer! I am a huge fan of the knives Viper is making. This knife model is a real beast of a blade. The broad blade profile and full flat grind makes this a great slicer. The large thumb opener is a joy to use to open the knife and even better as a thumb rest when cutting. Also, the flipping action is awesome. Fit and finish is spot on. It is perfect for larger hands which I really appreciate. The only negative which I find very surprising is the lock stick it has. Especially since it has a hardened steel lock face. I am hoping that it will work in with use. If you have XXL hands, or like larger knives, this blade is for you.
