5 out of 5 Historical, Useful, Hand Made

I have always been fascinated by early traditional knife designs especially the friction folders. This is a fine example of the Japanese expression of that design. Love the ironwood and that Mr. Ohta’s signature is engraved on it by him. Good friction, surprisingly good feel I hand. The blade shape is very useful and sharp. I carry it in the included slip which breaks in quickly to to knife shape.
This thing is about as lightweight as they come, really a feather weight.
The service from CK was excellent as always. I recommend CK and this knife if you are at all interested in classic friction folders.

5 out of 5 Cute little guy

The #5 size is a great little desk knife for opening mail, trimming things, sharpening pencils, or cutting out little paper soldiers. Its simplicity and design and sharpness of blade make it extremely useful and it’s still small enough to carry in your 5th pocket, even in its leather pouch. I have been greatly impressed with all 4 of the knives I’ve purchased from Mike, and I suspect everything he sells is top-notch. Even during these days of shut-downs due to COVID19, he gets shipments out the next day to satisfy our acquisitive urges while we sit at home. I highly, very highly, recommend doing business with Collector Knives whether you prefer “modern” traditionals or just straight up, old-fashioned traditionals. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything he carries.
