4 out of 5 Way more good than bad.

Wanted to try MKM and I like slipjoints, so this seemed perfect. Very nice design and nice action on the knife. Grinds are even, but the grinder’s satin is slightly uneven. The handle scales feel great in the hand. As others have mentioned, the tip is very close to being exposed when closed. Not a huge deal since I prefer using a slip. Overall, very pleased.

5 out of 5 What a Modern Slip Joint Should Be !!!

The fit and finish is almost perfect except for a small oil dribble. Design has nice curves and angles. Centering is perfect. Steel is outstanding. The pocket sheath ( YES, a pocket sheath is included ) has a belt loop and the leather soft to the touch. The walk and talk are distinct. For the price point, blows 1095 slip joints away.

3 out of 5 MKM Fara

There is a lot to like about this knife. I really like the walk and talk. It came razor sharp out of the box. M390 is one of my favorite steels. I love how lightweight it is, but I have a few gripes. 1. Mine has a slight recurve. Not sure if they had trouble with the grind on mine or if this is how they all are, but personal preference for sharpening ease, I try to avoid knives with recurve. 2. The tip of the blade is not recessed into the handle of the knife upon closing, making it very easy for it to catch fabric in my pocket, I will attach a picture. This makes having it in the pouch they provide with the knife essential for me, and i would rather skip the pouch. 3. Finally, I think it would have been more symmetrical to have the fuller on both sides of the blade. It may only be on one side because the blade stock is super thin, but I think they could have managed a shallow fuller on each side. It looks like it might have been left out to allow room for the burnley design logo.

Thanks for the detailed review. It does seem that the three critiques you are docking the knife rating on are essentially as-designed and #1/3 are as-pictured on the product page. I do wish more makers would drop the tips a bit, but that seems to be a trend on slipjoints. We do appreciate your time.

4 out of 5 Excellent modern slipjoint

The walk and talk, fit and finish and blade steel all make this an excellent example of what is possible with modern slip joint knives.
