Most of all the steel which is D2 tool steel, one of my favs. Also the wood had some nice figure to it. It was a little “rough: on opening/closing but a small drop of synthetic oil solved that immediately. Should be a great “workhorse”.

5 out of 5 Maserin Cutlery Plow Sodbuster Santos Wood D2 Steel PE2005

Great blade and I love D2 steel. For a 30.00 knife it is amazing for that alone. The handle is fine and well executed again for the price. The action is gritty but has been getting better. I like the pull and the blade holds very well in the open position. That is important to me. Also very good customer service and a nice company to deal with.

Its advertised as an economy sodbuster and that it is. At least in price. In quality it several cuts above .Mine came as a solid well made knife in need of slight tender loving care. The blades was not quite but almost centered. One of the liners needed cleaned up a bit and it needed sharpening to be where I like my edges. All that took me about a half hour and I feel as if I turned a 30 buck knife into a 50 buck knife with a D2 blade. Reminds me of the knives I started carrying 65 years ago. Not pocket jewelry, just a good solid work tool

5 out of 5 Great quality for budget price

I love D2 steel. It’s tough, but can be sharpened to a great edge. The scales have great color, the fit and finish is just right. The blade pivot needed a bit of work, but a little grinding compound and a good cleaning and it’s fine. I gave it 5 stars because its such a good value!

4 out of 5 Good Value

It is a budget knife just as described but it is a good one. The knife came quite sharp, had no blade play, and felt great in hand. The pivot did have some grit that had to be worked out and the fit and finish can be described as adequate but it’s nothing a little fussing won’t fix. I believe it is going to be a great work knife which is exactly what I was looking for.

I agree with all the above reviews. The knife was just as described in the video, and arrived quickly. I smoothed the liners a little, sharpened it and oiled the hinge. I am very satisfied with everything about the purchase and this knife. I carry it everyday.
