This was the single most expensive knife I’ve ever purchased so I was really biased towards liking it. And I do. It’s a beautiful knife. Glad I sprung for the titanium with the stonewashed finish. But I just couldn’t get a consistently good deploy and it was hard to close. The frame lock is quite long and there’s a tendency for your middle finger to rest on it and fight your thumb when trying to move the lock. It’s probably why the action is slow as well. Then I tried my left hand and those problems vanished. I’m a lefty who has always carried right handed. Most lefties just figure out how to do things right handed and live with it but this is the first knife I’ve ever swapped the clip on and carried in my left pocket. The crisp deploy and ease of closing is just that much better. If you’re a fellow lefty look no further. This is your knife.
Speaking of that clip, it’s way too strong. You have to learn not to touch it at all when pulling it out of your pocket or you’re going to shred your clothes pretty quick. I also swapped out the glass breaker with the included screw. It’s very sharp and the ratio of times I’ll need it vs the times I’ll stab myself with it reaching into my pocket made that a no brainer.
I’ve purchased a few Lionsteels this year and given how nice they’ve all been I don’t see myself stopping any time soon.
