5 out of 5 Exceptional Quality

    (verified owner)

This modern Barlow style by Lionsteel Is about as good as it gets and a welcomed offering to the slip joint lovers of the world. From the Titanium bolsters and liners to the beautiful stag, to the use of M390 steel, everything about this knife screams quality. Not to mention the nice beveling on the spine and and mainspring. As you’d expect the walk and talk are superior. The blade rests at dead center Lion Steel has really challenged the market with this one!

5 out of 5 An exceptional start!

    (verified owner)

I absolutely love this knife, and I call it an exceptional start because I will be buying any and all blade and style variations of this knife and at least one of each different cover they offer throughout the different blade options we see.
The knife is absolutely exquisite, and truly one of a kind right now, but there is at least one thing I would say can be done in general to improve the knifes and that is thinning out the blade geometry just a hair and also reducing the thickness behind the edge.
It is about .020 or so behind the edge which is good but for M390 it would be even better around .015 or thinner and with a 15dps secondary bevel it would be the kind of all slicers.
As it stands the knife is still amazing and fully deserving of the 5 stars, and the Stag in this case is something else really.
I do not normally like stag but this is making me start to love it.
Not to mention the fact that the whole knife has impeccable fit and finish, and the wall and talk of the knife is really something else.
The pull is a little softer than I expected for a single blade knife (around a 4 to my fingers) but it is sublime to open and close and I can’t put it down.
I absolutely can’t wait for the clip point version of this one to come out, and I will definitely getting on the list for one in carbon fiber to try that out next!!

5 out of 5 A great Barlow style pocket knife

    (verified owner)

The first one I bought was the CF version. It was so perfect, that I bought one is stag. It is just as perfect. The fit and finish is as good as most customs. The action is also a perfect 5 to my calibrated fingers – not too hard, and not to soft. The grinds are perfectly symmetrical and everything is rounded as separate components prior to assembly – something that is not common with other manufacturers, but which I really appreciate. Did I mention the extra bonus of the titanium bolsters and liners. Simply a great added and practical touch – light weight and completely corrosion proof. Also, the added bonus of the super steel for the blade. Great looking stag too! A super knife that checks all of the boxes for me. The only down side is that you will be using it more for admiring than cutting. Every time I take it out to cut something, I spent some time admiring it.

5 out of 5 Perfect Blend

This knife really blends many modern elements into an excellent traditional style slip-joint. The stag is also such a beautiful material it adds such an elegance to this knife.

5 out of 5 Nearly perfect slip joint

    (verified owner)

Actually, maybe it is perfect. Modern materials, titanium bolsters and liners, super steel blade, great fit and finish, perfect blade centering and walk and talk. All with traditional slip joint appearance. I got the stag handle version on early reserve, then bought the wood handle a day or two later, sticking with traditional handle materials. By the time I decided to get the CF version they had sold out. Hope there is a second run of these, maybe with more CF and maybe Micarta handles.
