5 out of 5 Modern take on a traditional Barlow

    (verified owner)

First impression out of the box is that this is a traditional Barlow. It has all the features a well-made knife should have: Closed, the blade is perfectly centered. Open, the blade is a classic clip point, nice swedge and nothing fancy. Nail mark on both sides much appreciated by left-handers, I’m sure. The blade is nice sized and fits the frame — in other words, it isn’t so short it looks like it was made for another knife. A pet peeve is that no matter how much of a mirror polish is put on a nickel-silver bolster, if the knife is dropped the ends of the pivot are likely to become visible. This bolster, affixed with torx screws, will never have that problem. Speaking of torx screws, I imagine custom scales will become readily available. The backside and backspring have a nice treatment and, of course, perfect joining. Another feature that a well-made knife should have is straight alignment. In other words, if the knife is opened and placed backspring down on a flat surface, blade and backspring should lie flush with the surface. This one does. The “stop” for the tang is a neat innovation. Finally, the use of modern metals ensures the knife will last a lifetime. And, since mine is an everyday carry, that’s important. Five stars!

4 out of 5 All but perfect

    (verified owner)

Very well excecuted. Smooth where it should be, sharp where it should be.

Much more attractive when open than when closed.

My example has some small voids and tool marks in the carbon fiber scales. Otherwise exceptional in every other way.

5 out of 5 The Poster Child for this Knife ~

    (verified owner)

This current variation on the successful Lionsteel/CK partnership is probably the most attractive of the three with its handsome swedged clippoint blade in M390, domed titanium backspring & bolsters, and selection of various micartas, bones, woods and fibers, making for just an outstanding general purpose slipjoint without the issues of misalignment, corrosion, or stiff kinetics found on so many trad slippies. Though not quite as sharp out of the box as the Dom, the Shuffler is probably the most effective fusion of trad with mod, especially the marbled carbon fiber & ti hardware contrasting with the beefy, long-pulled clippoint.

Light, perfect daily size and easy on the eyes, The CK01 Euro Barlow was in my estimation the traditional Knife-of-the-Year in 2017. And frankly it still is in 2018.

5 out of 5 My new favorite

    (verified owner)

Everything good about traditional knives, minus the negatives.
Beautiful and functional slicey blade shape and grind.
Amazing steel that holds its edge and doesn’t rust on me.
Scales are held with screws so I can easily throw some custom ones on, though I don’t know why I’d want to change the beautiful carbon fiber ones it comes with.
I can open the knife by pinching the blade with my fingers instead of destroying my nails on a nail nick.
Timeless design. Liked it so much I later bought the bone micarta version too. They make a great pair

5 out of 5 Lion Steel Shuffler

I really like the traditional style with modern materials. Well executed style and beautiful fit and finish. The blade finish is very nice as are the handle scales. came with good edge and all parts finished with no blemishes.

You cant go wrong with this knife. Premium materials with super steel in a traditional style. Unbelievable the quality you get especially for the price point. I was buying this for my father in law for Christmas. But I’m keeping it and buying him another just like it.

5 out of 5 I didn't think it was possible

    (verified owner)

I got in on these “Barlows” back in August of 2017 when Mike came out with the Roundhead, which was a spear point blade. When I saw the Shuffler, I just had to add it to the collection. I didn’t think it was possible for the Shuffler to be better than my first purchase, but I was wrong. I’ve never been excited about clip point blades, but I couldn’t resist this one. The Pull on my new Shuffler is the best of any knife in the collection. The price is excellent on these too. In my opinion, I got more than I paid for.

5 out of 5 My perfect Barlow

    (verified owner)

Pictures don’t do the random carbon fiber justice as movement causes different fives to be highlighted. Feels great in the hand with the rounding of edges. Other a couple of proud spots on the scales the fit and finish is perfect. I was having buyers remorse on ordering so ordered an ebony one as well. Once I had both in hand and I saw how the carbon fiber came alive it went right in my pocket and hasn’t left!

5 out of 5 Excellent knife

    (verified owner)

I own the Dom and roundhead also, and this is the nicest of the 3. All of them are great, but the fit and finish on the shuffler is just a small bit better. The carbon fiber is beautiful, and the walk and talk is the best of all the Lionsteel/CK knives. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, fit and finish along with perfect operation has exceeded my expectations.
I would not hesitate to purchase another slipjoint from Lion Steel and CK.
