5 out of 5 Surpassed Expectations

Before I even opened the tube I was struck by the weight of this knife. This thing is a tank (a very pretty tank). The oily creek bone I received is gorgeous. I was hoping for a simple shield and was a little disappointed when GEC announced it would be a wrench but I believe they pulled it off rather well. It’s a keeper.

This is a hefty knife! Looking at the pictures, it doesn’t seem much different than other GEC patterns of this general shape, but it is!
I have the #81 bull moose, and this knife, although shorter, makes it look small!
Fit and finish is about perfect, as we have come to expect from GEC.
Pull for both blades is perfect for my taste. Having the nail nicks on each side gives great access to each blade and makes opening easy.
I think this will be a popular pattern!
In the photo, we have the #81, #86, and #78, but it still doesn’t convey the full heft of the #86!

Nice fit and finish for this Oily Creek Bone. Love smooth bone. I’d say this is better than the usual GEC quality by 20%. Excellent size for a user/EDC. Not as big as the Coke Bottle was, but a tad more than a Stockman. Classic Jack shape.
