5 out of 5 Large, practical and comfortable traditional style knife for edc

Not as showy as many but the micarta has strong character and a great texture for controlling the blade during use (even if it happened to become a little moist). I believe that the micarta will not be as susceptible to cracks and chips as many other scale materials. The slim profile of the Dixie stockman makes it comfortable in the pocket. The quality of materials and fit/finish of the knife I received was excellent…as, in my experience, is the case with all of Great Eastern’s knives. Not only did Collector Knives have the best price I could find…their service was exceptional in every way!

This is a big knife that carries easy. Its round bolsters and low riding blades are a big plus. I have one from the 2014 run and can honestly say the 82 is my favorite GEC knife. Well done!

5 out of 5 Very Happy

The spacer between the springs is a wee bit proud along half the spine, otherwise it’s about perfect. I’m very happy to have it in my pocket.

4 out of 5 Nice Stockman

Wharncliff blade was really sluggish when I got it out of the tube. Spent the weekend working it open and closing and now she is snapping shut! Just because it’s a GEC doesn’t make it perfect. took off one star because of the sluggish blade but it got worked out. Thank you for advise Mike it worked out!

5 out of 5 Big knife

Well, not as big as the Oregon Trapper, but still sizeable. The blades a nestle together in much the same manner as the Churchill. The pull is a bit softer than the average GEC. Natural Canvas Micarta has become one of my favorite handle materials. The frame has a graceful serpentine curve. The Serpentine shield is a nice touch … nicer and more understated than the hotdog. The fit and finish is very good with perfectly flush scale joints at the endcaps. The blade finish is perfect and all the edges sharp. The Dixie Stockman is another winner from GEC. The service and shipping from CK was fantastic as always. This was a new record for the USPS, 2 days instead of the usual 3 days from Oklahoma to the Pacific Northwest.

4 out of 5 Tidioute Dixie Trapper - Great Pattern For General Use

    (verified owner)

This knife is a great all around pocket carry for just about anything you need to do. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite GEC carry knives. Now if they made it in stainless steel, took out some of the sharp edges, and put half stops in the blades, then you would really have something.

I am very happy with this knife (except for the items above). I would recommend it for someone that likes the stockman pattern. I find the thinner profile to be another benefit.

Love this knife and also have one from the 2014 run and had to get another. Wanted a great EDC knife and the 2018 Dixie Stockman definitely fits the bill. Good decent size, but slim enough and great carry in the pocket with the CK Pocket Slip. Initially decent pull on primary blade and a little stiff on the secondary blades. But once I cleaned and lubed the knife, I have great action and pull on all 3 blades. USPS shipping noted 3 days, but received the knife in 2 days. I am exceptionally happy with this knife and very happy with the customer service with CK. P.S. also love the devotions provided with each CK purchase.
