I’ve wanted a GEC Hunter for a while but seemed to keep missing them. These aren’t large knives to begin with so when this H40 (the larger size) came up on CK I jumped on it. The bocote scales have amazing figuring. I love the contrast of light and dark in the wood. The knife is everything that you expect from GEC. Excellent fit and finish. Great grind. The blade stock isn’t real thick so it is what I would consider more of a slicing knife. Maybe 1/8″ stock at the grip and thinned down to 1/16″ at the tip. GEC has used different swedge patterns on these knives and this one has the long thin swedge. IMO, the short beefy swedge on the latest 2023 version is more sexy but I’m still happy overall. Comes with a well made and attractive leather sheath. So glad to add it to the collection.
