5 out of 5 Looks great in pictures, but must have in hand to fully appreciate!

I pre-ordered one of these because I liked the way it looked and the price was good, but I never expected I would get something this nice. The fit and finish are the absolute best I’ve ever seen in a non-custom knife. The blade locks up so tightly it feels like a fixed blade when open. The ergonomics are really incredible – not only does the swayback curve continue beautifully onto the blade spine, but every edge of the handle and blade is rounded in a level of detail you just don’t see, not even from GEC (see pic). A real gem!

5 out of 5 Beautiful knife

So far I am loving the knife. It is really beautiful and definitely seems well made. It is a great size for edc, and the leather sleeve goes really nicely with it.

5 out of 5 Great modern traditional knife!

The Viper swayback knife is my new favorite edc slip joint knife. The combination of top shelf modern materials, flawless fit and finish, and a great traditional design, along with Collector Knives’s super fast service, just can’t be beat!

    5 out of 5 A beauty I can put to work ...

I am a big fan of both the swayback pattern and wharncliffe blades in general. Often times, the pattern is a bit too small for my comfort. This knife adds a bit of length, a bit of heft, and a really nice blade. The fit and finish were great right out of the box, blade was super sharp, and had great snap. I had planned on applying some mineral oil to darken up the micarta, but after just a day it is naturally turning a nice OD color – mostly because I can’t stop pulling it out of my pocket to admire it. As much as I like the 1095 and CV blades on most of my collection, the M390 makes a perfect EDC steel as I don’t have to worry about it quite so much.

I’m very pleased with my purchase and CK came through with blazing fast delivery as they always seem to.

5 out of 5 So nice...

    (verified owner)

This little knife is so very nice. To be honest, I have never been a fan of the swayback, or the wharncliffe, or micarta, or single blades, generally, but they are growing on me. Had to try this one. Everything about this knife is so precise; it satisfies my engineering sensibilities. Even the color, after rubbing in some mineral oil, looks great. You will be pleased to own this knife.

5 out of 5 My favorite one so far

    (verified owner)

I have always been a big fan of the Swayback design and this has been both my favorite swayback and my favorite of the CK/Italian knives so far. Haven’t been able to put it down since I got it, and still can’t find a flaw in it at all!
It might not be for hardcore traditional fans, but it is a great knife!

5 out of 5 The perfect EDC knife for the suburban and work van!

    (verified owner)

I have used a Great Eastern “Talon” ( swayback ) for years as my main EDC. This is going to be its replacement. M390 will be easier to care for than 1095. The micarta scales need to be sealed, IMHO… I picked beeswax and borrowed my wife’s hair dryer to melt it in. I like how the color turned out. The fit and finish is excellent. Have attached a picture of my old knife and the new Viper. Enjoy !
