I’ve wanted a swayback jack for years, but gave up on ever acquiring a GEC model and I consider the Case versions to be too small.
Then I stumbled on this knife and decided to take a gamble.
Well, my gamble paid off. The fit and finish are perfect, the walk and talk sings, and the blade came shaving sharp. The marbled carbon fiber covers are unusual, but very attractive.
I could not be happier with this knife.

My only complaint is when knife is closed if you rub finger over the blade tip area the tip catches on you finger skin and if not careful could cut your skin. I will be careful. Otherwise an awesome knife. Great materials and workmanship.

Got my Viper Swayback in carbon Fiber. This is my first ever modern traditional slip joint knife and I’m honestly blown away at the quality and craftsmanship of this knife. Utterly fantastic!

I agree with the five star reviews. This is a great knife. The scales are beautiful to my eyes. Fit and finish are great. M390 steel is great. Why not five stars from me? I’ve got beaucoup pocket knives, and I’m an old guy who is looking for the perfect EDC for my needs. That means it should be under 2 oz. with .08 inch blade stock, and a thin edge. This knife is close, but no cigar. That is the only thing that keeps it off the “perfect” list.

This is a great quality knife.
The fit and finish on mine is perfect and the contouring on everything is smooth. It came razor sharp right out of the packaging. The back spring is noticeably stronger than my other slipjoints, which seems to give it a more solid pull on opening and closing and gives it a really satisfying half stop.
I also love the look of this knife. The covers are very well finished, and the combination of the carbon fiber and titanium with the swayback makes it a great example of what a modern traditional can look like.
Overall, this is a very well executed, sturdy modern slipjoint.

I picked this up after trying the same model with different covers. I knew that the quality, fitment, & finish of the first knife was very nice, but I needed something that was going to be a little more user friendly in terms differing temperatures and humidity levels. After talking briefly with Mike, I decided on the CF covers version.
Like the first knife, this knife has exceptional attention to detail. It has wonderful, slightly grippy covers, perfect fitment, and just the right amount of pull. Add to that a modern steel, modern handle material, a half stop, a polished spine, and perfect centering and this knife is a “no-brainer”. IMHO, the knife lacks nothing. The price is more than reasonable for what you get and I’d buy it again without reservation.

I received the carbon fiber version very quickly after ordering and it was shipped in a well protected box that included a shrink wrap outer protective cover.
Knife itself is incredible. Great walk and talk, perfect blade centering and the radius on spine and spring feel great in the hand.
Mike at Collectors Knives is great to deal with and runs a smooth reservation system allowing collectors to relax a little on hard to get new releases. You still need to be quick on the reservation, but it’s easier than chasing 15 different sellers for a new release.
I am signed up for more, and look forward to a long lasting relationship with this seller and his carefully selected products.
