5 out of 5 Perfect Modern Traditional

    (verified owner)

I am baffled that these did not sell out immediately. This is one of the best looking knives I own and the build quality is top notch. It’s awesome how the bolsters and liners are a single piece of titanium. While I love the CK Euro Barlow, I always found the backspring to be too light. This knife doesn’t have that issue. The backspring is nice and tight, more like a GEC. It’s a perfect little knife and for what you pay you get something spectacular. If you’re on the fence, I recommend you buy it.

5 out of 5 Beautiful knife!

This knife is definitely a 5 star. The fit and finish, the quality of the bocote wood, the way it feels in hand, the M390 blade–all perfect! If I had a criticism it would be that the blade is almost too sharp–never thought I’d say that–very easy to nick yourself when handling.

5 out of 5 Top quality workmanship and materials

    (verified owner)

Given the crazy market for GECs and other traditional slipjoints, modern traditionals like this Viper Sowbelly offer incredible workmanship, materials, and value for the money. I really can’t find anything to criticize in this knife.

5 out of 5 Good knife- STRONG spring

    (verified owner)

Nice fit & finish. Quality steel. Very sharp. The site description regarding back spring tension is accurate. It is so strong I consider it borderline dangerous to open. I will tape the blade and work it with oil because I really like the knife and want to EDC it.

Looking for a quality, modern traditional gentleman’s knife from a well known region? This is it. The design is well balanced and non-threating for office use. This is my first purchase of a knife of this type and from Collector Knives. I’m happy with my choice. The reviews others left helped a lot and the delivery went well. I also like supporting a small business offering a unique product. Good value overall.

5 out of 5 Exceptionally well made and designed knife.

The fit and finish on this modern traditional SowBelly is amazing, the grinds on the blade are perfect. Blade is centered, and the action is firm, smooth, and crisp. It is so comfortable in the hand, and it’s weight goes unnoticed in the pocket. ( I like the way Sowbellies carry, and the titanium helps greatly with the weight). The Bocote is nicely finished and fit rather well to the bolsters. The back spring and blade seam when open is pretty seamless, I can’t think of a single thing I can criticize about this offering. It arrived sharp enough for me to just pocket it and go. Mike has done a great job bringing this knife to market. I think this one is going to hard to be bumped from my right front pocket for some time to come…
