5 out of 5 Great Fit and Finish, easy to sharpen

    (verified owner)

This is only my second Case knife, with the first being a 2-piece Hobo from 1999. On this mini-trapper, both of my blades are well centered, whereas the knife on my Hobo was not centered. Considering both were “new in box,” the Hobo was significantly dirtier, and took quite a bit of time to clean up. This Mini Trapper arrived clean, and the fit of the covers to the bolsters was excellent. I couldn’t see any gaps. Build quality for this knife is definitely better than my only other Case.

While the steel on my Hobo is TruSharp, and this one is CV (carbon), I wasn’t expecting a HUGE difference in the default grind because I had had such a poor experience on the Hobo. Well, this Mini Trapper came decently sharp, and I was able to get it hair popping sharp very quickly on the spyderco sharpmaker.

All in all, I’m very satisfied with this knife, and the Whiskey Bone coloration looks much better than I expected in person!
