Description

Nothing is as smooth and flexible as goat skin leather.  So we have introduced a new slip for those that want a slip that fits your knife like a glove.  These was modeled after the Opinel slip that has gotten rave reviews.  But we wanted something that would also work with a medium to large slipjoint as well.

Thus, the large slip will work with Opinel 6/7/8 and most standard width/height slipjoints in the 3 5/8 – 4 1/4″ range.  The small will work with most others smaller.

We contracted these ourselves from Europe of vegetable tanned leather and are extremely proud of them.  Since every knife model has a different shape, if you are concerned about fit – ask us.  If we have one of your models in stock, we will check it.

You will get one selected slip in a plastic sleeve.  No knives included ;>

5 out of 5 Great Pocket Slip

I have read that these slips were “buttery smooth”. That is an very accurate description. The slips are very well made. Can’t beat the price!

    European Goat Skin Slip (small)

    (verified owner)

This leather is as soft as the softest glove leather you can find. The small size fit my Case Mini Copperlock very well as far as length, but the width was a bit too loose to keep the knife secure. I remedied that with a medium Premium Tuscan Pocket Slip. These slips, both goat skin and leather, are excellent values.

Very nicely made soft leather and a good value! I bought both sizes The one on the left contains my GEC #38 Special, and on the right is the GEC Oregon trapper. I really like how the slips make it less likely for the knife to turn sideways in your pocket, a pet peeve.

5 out of 5 Large Brown

The large brown pocket slip was a perfect fit for my Northwoods Delta Jack. Buttery smooth to the touch. I have an allergy to the chemicals used in leather treatment. I haven’t had any issues with this one.

5 out of 5 A Versatile and Inexpensive Slip

If you watch the video on this page you will have a good idea as to how these are made. The leather is quite thin but being goatskin I think it will also prove to be very tough. The two sizes that are available will fit a large range of knives. For example, the large fits my 4″ Schrade 885UH stockman, my Vic Tinker, and my Case seahorse whittler. The small fits my Case swayback jack, small Texas jack, and medium stockmans, as well as my Buck Colt, and it would be fine (just a bit large) for my peanuts and mini copperhead. Being so soft they will conform to the knife and won’t just fill up your pocket with “dead air” the way a stiffer slip might. I think these are a bargain at under $6 and will provide good protection for my knives.
I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that, being so soft, they won’t grip a knife as securely as the premium Tuscan slips, but I think they will do a good job of protecting a knife while in your pocket. Just don’t pull it out upside down and let the knife slide out!

5 out of 5 My new favorite slip

    (verified owner)

I have a number of the Tuscany Leather Slips which I have always enjoyed, but these Goat Skin Slips are my new favorite. The are so flexible and light that they are virtually unnoticeable in the pocket, yet do a great job of protecting the knife and holding it securely.

These are GREAT slips, and the price is a bonus.

    Question

Will the Lion Steel Shuffler fit in the goat skin knife pocket slip? Will the large slip be too large for this knife?

5 out of 5 Slips Small and Large

    (verified owner)

Much thinner though nicely made then the leather slips. Great deal. The small fits my GEC 15 perfectly and the large currently has a Maserin 126 Hunter in it. That should give some perspective. Of note: putting the knife in collapses the slip sometimes being a soft and thinner material. Just bear that in mind. The leather one is much more rigid. I like both especially for the prices for different applications. CK is very cool to deal with!

I haven’t used this slip as much yet, as it was a “why not at this price?” kind of add-on purchase to my Lion Steel Bolus and the Tuscany slip I keep that in. That said, I am using it for my Case tribal lock, and it fits that reasonably well. It’s a very soft, pliable leather, and again, at this price, why not add one on to your order. It never hurts to have an extra knife slip around if you need it.

edit: I ordered a second one of these, this time in large. I recently got a good deal on a GEC #93 Ram’s Foot, and Mike suggested this size. I got one of the fatter oily creek bone #93’s, and i t fits like a glove. Thanks Mike, for answering my questions and helping me get the right slip.

5 out of 5 Thin flexible and cut out, easy acesss, makes these my first choice

    (verified owner)

I like everything about it. Sage is the one in my pics, matched the OD green Canvas Micarta 92 perfectly. Cut out offers easy access without exposing knife to damage. BIG BANG FOR THE BUCKS!!!!

Very nice pouches, great quality. My Buck 55 and 503 fit perfectly into the small pouch and my 501 fits perfect in the large. I highly recommend these pouches for any similar size folders.
