My first purchase of a GEC product but it won't be my last. Beautiful knife and well made. Very happy with my purchase and Collector Knives. Will by many more from this site going forward.

As my small collection of GEC knives grows my appreciation for their high standard of quality grows with it. I use my knives, they are tools as well as my man jewelry. I enjoy looking at, handling and using a quality traditional pocket knife. My Golden Ale Beer Scout is everything I hoped it would be.
The fit and finish is excellent. I find the color to be unique and I think as it becomes worn and polished from use it will become even more so. The walk and talk is smooth and crisp. The pull is in the medium range. The cap lifter is well designed and works with minimal effort. The sheepsfoot blade is pretty to look at with that beautiful swedge and French pull , as well as very functional. Not much it can't do. It has a bit more of a point than a Case sheepsfoot and therefor punctures and starts a cut easier when not starting a cut at an outside edge.
Overall I'm very pleased, and find no faults. I did lightly polish the top corner edge of the back square , and the squared off edges at the top of the blade just above the French Pull. They were rather sharp to the touch. Good old fashion pocket time would have done it for me. The same for any slight roughness in the bone jigging. I don't find this to be a fault.

Has the usual good fit/finish you’d expect and, while not the most exciting model GEC has come out with recently, the top popper, flat blade, bail and long pull on the sheepfoot make it one of the more useful small pocket knives for carry and general use. I’d describe it as a very well made user, but not a museum piece.

As per usual, the quality of this knife reflects the time and effort GEC puts into their products.

I read where an employee at GEC referred to this Golden Ale Bone as exquisite and I have to agree. Beautiful knife, fantastic walk and talk, blades centered perfectly. Love this knife- one of my favorites!

This knife meets the high standard set by previous efforts. I have one of last years runs that I carry often. Very functional. The cap lifter does not open many bottles but it scrapes, pokes, and does what you don't want to do with the cutting blade.

This is a nice knife but the bone is roughly finished. It should be smooth.

I have been turning this knife over and over in my hands, opening and closing the blades, looking at it from every angle and it is superb.outstanding quality, far above what is fair to expect from a production pocket knife.

Another Excellent product from Great Eastern Cutlery. Fit and finish is top of the line, as to be expected from GEC.

The knife is well built and beautifully finished but I have to say the providence of God is better.
let me take a minute to tell you about the providence of God in my life.
I pre-ordered the knife in April of 2016 and had to wait until November of the the same year, it was worth the wait, the day before it arrived I was telling my brother in law about the goodness of God, how Jesus died to take our sins away and he found the whole thing silly. When my knife arrived the following day, Mike had included a bible track from 1 Corinthians 1:18 reminding me that it is God who must open open eyes and draw hearts.
Thanks Mike for the encouragement and great knife.
