I am pleasantly surprised that Case has lifted their game and produced an excellent quality folder. fit and finish are excellent centering perfect, way to go Case! The only ding is the dull edge which is easy to fix

Beautiful bone covers, well finished and matched. No gaps on springs or liners. Pull was gritty. Blade was not centered and touching the liner which doesn't bother me, but you want a gift to be perfect. Edge was very poorly done. Not just dull, it was wavy and uneven. This was a gift and am glad I looked at it before giving. After a thorough cleaning and oiling the walk and talk was very good. I touched up the edge, removing as little material as possible to make it sharp. It still needs much work to make it right. Didn't want to risk scratching it since it was new and a gift. This is no reflection on CK, they are great! Done properly this knife would get 5 stars.

I wasn't expecting much from this knife since it was not expensive but was pleasantly surprised. The bone handle is very nice and the fit and finish is excellent. The back spring is mirror polished and so is the blade. The back spring is strong and the blade is nice and tight in the open position with very little side to side play. The edge was terrible but the CV steel was easy to sharpen and in a few minutes I had it shaving hair with a nicely polished edge. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend this knife.

Case did a fantastic job on this knife. The coloring on the scales was a very good match (front/back), the pull was a very solid 4-5, and centering was just slightly off (which is amazing for Case). The slim profile afforded by the bone scales fits very well in slacks or jeans. This knife is an incredible bargain at this price.

The beautiful jigged Chestnut Bone handles
Iconic Sodbuster Jr pattern
Thinner profile than the Delrin versions
All that adds up to one impressive knife for every day carry. The thinner profile makes all the difference in the pocket and the top shelf materials means this Sodbuster will be as much at home in the office as it is in the garden.

I received a Sodbuster Jr in Chestnut bone as the winner of a giveaway, now I've had Sodbuster's in full size and in the Jr, in the yellow and black plastic scales and have loved them all. The Sodbuster is a working man's knife, it's stout, the CV blades take a razor sharp edge and are easy to maintain, add to that the fact that the price point for this knife puts it in the range anyone can afford.
That being said it's easy to understand how this became a working class folder, it's a pattern that is iconic, easily identifiable. It's a pattern everyone recognizes. It's a standard everyone should have as part of a collection and definitely as part of your every day carry. As far as being a beautiful knife, it seriously comes up short in my eyes. Until the Case Chestnut Brown bone Jr came out. This knife is the epitome of elegance yet still retains its utility as an EDC.
The Jigged bone Case is using to make these scales is proudly the best production scales they've made in decades. It's warm to the touch the coloring is deep and looks great on bolsterless models like the Sodbuster Jr. This knife is so elegant that it's equally at home in my jean pocket or my suit pocket. It's a very capable sized blade that's user friendly the high hollow grind is well suited as a utility folder that sees use breaking down boxes or stripping insulation off of 12 gauge wire.
If you wanted a great all around knife that looks nice as well as excels at cutting you'd be hard pressed to find a better knife for the price

I just received my Case Sod Buster Jr. in Chestnut Bone and I was pleasantly surprised at how thin it is. If you have a standard SB Jr, you know it's a "chunky", in a good way, knife. This one is about half the thickness. It rides perfectly in the front watch pocket of my Wranglers and makes it easy to access the larger pocket. Mike has them priced right so get one if you're thinking about it.

Awesome little knife. Same length handle as my medium stockman. Feels great in the hand. Came out of the box very very sharp. It's also very slim compared to the yellow handles soddies. It disappeares in the pocket. Great little knife and great customer service!

This is my first Case knife in years and I was wondering about quality. No more, it's an extraordinarily nice piece, beautifully assembled and finished. Case is up there in overall quality particularly for the price. I'll buy more Case knives in the future.
