Hiroaki Ohta Purple Heart Wood FK7

Sometime ago on a lark I decided to purchase one of the little friction folders by Ohta that Mike was offering and found it to be of high quality and very well made. That was the FK5 and I have carried it nearly exclusively since it arrived. Recently I thought I might like to have that same knife in a little larger size so I ordered the FK7. I now prefer the larger one and carry it daily. I am in no way expert in knife making and heat treating but it is obvious that Hiroaki Ohta is. The D2 blade takes as keen an edge as I am able to give it and holds that edge for a good long time. The handles are made of various hardwoods and are finished to perfection. If you want a custom made example of Japanese tradition made from beginning to end by one craftsman then go no further than one of these fine knives. They are supplied with a pocket slip by the maker but if you want to upgrade to one a bit nicer the large Tuscany traditional pocket knife slip fits the FK7 like a glove.
